Cockayne blasts Ward, Rimcoski

City Councilor Ken Cockayne said the two politicians who voted against putting the chief operating officer proposal on the ballot and then signed petitions calling for a public vote are "trying to play it both ways."
Mayor Art Ward and Republican city Councilor Mike Rimcoski each gave the idea a thumbs down when the City Council voted on it last month.
But they subsequently signed petitions asking that the plan be placed on the Nov. 4 general election ballot.
"Typical politics as usual," Cockayne said.
Cockayne said that if Ward and Rimcoski had wanted the plan on the ballot, all they had to do was vote for it. That would have saved hundreds of people many hours of time and trouble, he said, gathering the required signatures to put the idea on the ballot.

SPOILED BRAT!

As much as I think Cockayne is a hothead, I do agree with him on this one - Art ward is trying to have it both ways and Mike Rimcoski is a nice old guy who has no business being on the Council anymore. There's a lot of work to be done and not a lot of worker bees to do it, it seems.

Bring on the COO

MAYBE COCKAYNE SHOULD HAVE SHOT HIS MOUTH OFF AT THE TIME OF THE VOTE RATHER THAN AFTER FINDING OUT THAT HE AND HIS CRONIES GOT CAUGHT STUFFING THE PETITIONS DOWN THE VOTER'S THROAT WITHOUT FOLLOWING THE PROPER PROCEDURES - CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS KENNY BOY.
HOW COME THAT HE DIDN'T TELL WARD OR RIMCOSKI NOT TO SIGN THE PETITION? - MUST HAVE THOUGHT THAT HE NEEDED THEM.
COCKAYNE IS A SORRY EXCUSE FOR AN ELECTED OFFICIAL LOOKING TO CRY FOUL WHEN IT IS RECOGNIZED THAT THE WORDS THAT HE SPEAKS CAN BE DERIVED FROM EITHER HIS MOUTH OR HIS BUTT.

~ Typical Cockayne...it looks like his butt is in the frying pan for screwing up the petition drive with shoddy organization and sloppy follow through, so he tries to stir up some other stupid headlines to take the focus off his totally flubbing up yet again...tsk, tsk, tsk!

Cockayne has spent his entire first year being realtively obnoxious on almost every subject. I wonder what the voters reaction will be to that next year.

Easy! You will see all Republicans in office next year!

McCain maybe...

OUR TAXPAYERS AND VOTERS ARE NOT IDIOTS!! AGAIN I WILL SAY THIS TO ALL WHO ARE AGAINST THIS CHANGE, WE THE VOTERS WITH MORE THAN A HALF OF A BRAIN WILL VOTE THEM OUT!!! WATCH OUT!!!

Anonymous said...

cockayne being "relatively obnoxious"? boy that sure has to be a chatitable statement from a family member, being that kind to him.
if he spent half as much time trying to do something positive for the city as he does inflating his own ego with his "totally obnoxious" behavior, something might get done. Needs to grow up.

Could it be that they both thought it SHOULD be decided by voters and not by the council?

Did Kenny C learn his temper antics from Kenny J??

Is his next act slamming the door?

Ken is the best thing to happen to this city in years. He is bringing things to light that all the "regulars" (aka - the good ole boys, the unions, McCauley, etc al) never wanted brought out.

The only thing he does is fight for what he believes is right and is best for the taxpayers. Maybe he gets a lot of press for it, but that is because he fights and doesn't just sit by and allw things to proceed as they always did.

If you think people aren't paying attention to the things that he has brought to light, like Rosenthal's ineptness, the GASB 45 issue, the union bloated union contracts, and all the counsilors who act on behalf of the unions you are mistaken.

Cockayne for Mayor!

~ If you're hooking your star to these clowns, you're obviously working with not much more than half.

5:58, Oh gee mom, stop! You're embarrassing Kenny!

Republicans fighting amongst themselves, AGAIN.

Didn't learn last time, did they?

Dems are dancing in the aisles.

Is there ANY leadership in the Republican Party?

I am definitely not a Ward lover (or even liker), but I must say something in his defense. He already publicly stated that he does not believe a City Manager will benefit Bristol. HOWEVER, he also said that he would sign the petition because he thinks the decision should be left up to the voters of Bristol. Maybe if all of you who make negative comments actually read a newspaper article, you might be more well-informed on civic topics.

Anonymous said...

Ward also stated publicly he was going to support this change when it was brought to the council and let the voters decide. This was in the paper also, but maybe not the paper that you read!

Anonymous said...

What do you expect from the Cockayne/Mocabee/Schaffrick/Johnsonteam?

Anonymous said...

If Cockayne is going to shoot off his mouth every time another council member has a different view than he does, it's going to be a long and difficult year.

Anonymous said...

Hey Cockayne cheerleader guy...he's going...DOWN!

Anonymous said...

now that cockayne has more than the needed amount of signatures, he is trying to bury rimcoski, his own frigging party, and ward for signing the petition?
where was his dumb ass when he didn't know whether or not he could get enough signatures? why didn't he go after them then?
talk about a back-stabbing (2) two faced wimp.
only turn your back on this guy if you already have had your last rights administered and he promises to be the first one to spit on your grave.
Cockcayne has proven to be nothing less than a disgusting,
undependable, unconsciousable, conniving, self-serving opportunist.
it is apparent that someday he will realize his ambition to reach the same depths as minor and johnson but, not through the lack of trying, he has't earned his wings yet.

For once we have someone in office who is working for ALL the people. Not just those of Special interest groups, like MCauly and Ward.

Good Job Cocaine!!

Anonymous said...

9:21 ~ Working for ALL the people? Would that be ALL the people who are anti-Ward? Sounds like you're smoking COCAINE!

Anonymous said...

The question is: who is pulling Cockaynes chain?

HIs mother?
Ken Johnson?
Art Mocabee?
Gary Schaffrick?
All of the above?

We have the Wizard of OZ all over again.

Cockayne voted against the budget but will he work to implement it?

Or will he work against all that the budget supports?

Anonymous said...

Steve is Cockayne the same person that owns Brokers Advanced Concepts Agency ??If so ,explains why he acts the way he does.past experience with him not pleasent,(snake in grass)

Anonymous said...

Why does everyone care more about who made the statement, then stepping back and asking themselves, why did they decide to sign the petition after voting it down? Personally I'd rather know why they changed their minds then who made public the fact that they signed the petition after voting no. Flame wars are useless, and no successful discussion will ever come of them. If your concerned about Bristol's politics demand an answer from Ward and Rimcoski as to why they changed their mind. Who knows, they may have a good reason, then again...

It is nice to see one politician dumping on another.

"Hey Cockayne cheerleader guy...he's going...DOWN!
July 22, 2008 10:59 PM"

That maybe true. He had the audacity to take o the unions. His loss would be a loss for the common private sector employees and tax payers.

KEEP COCKAYNE IN 2009

Anonymous said...

You've obviously mistaken "audacity" with plain old "stupidity"... his loss would be a loss for...ah....nobody!

Anonymous said...

Is it true that Ken and Ken want to dump Rimcoski from the Republican ticket?

Anonymous said...

Don't mess with Ken.

(you pick which one)

Anonymous said...

I'd rather not think about having either Ken, thank you.

Anonymous said...

The Republican Party continues in their free fall.

Anonymous said...

hi, my name is ken -----, watch me, listen to me, obey me, recognize me, idolize me, love me - my name is ken -----.

Are you people adults or children?? I am so amazed how you so called grown adults act on this blog.

Anonymous said...

Did Rimcoski turn his back on the Republican party or did turn their back on him? We will see when it is time to re-elect him.

Anonymous said...

Who does Ken think he is, God?

Anonymous said...

Rimcoski was and is a GOOD Republican.

Unfortunately, a few people who won't run or can't get elected seem that they can dictate to those that run, are successful, and truly represent the people.

They are casting Rimcoski aside, they chose not to support Stortz, yet these two have won well over a dozen elections as well as having served in other ways, on Boards. etc.

The dems, as much as they hate Lieberman, are smart enough to include him and not cast him aside.
That is an example of why they arew successful and continue to be.

Who is the brain behind this latest suicide attempt?

Anonymous said...

They couldn't get a full slate last time, and they want to eliminate one of their winning candidates?

Not very smart I would say.

Anonymous said...

There are no brains, just self serving people: Johnson, Cockayne, Barnes, Mocabee, Schaffrick.

Need I say more?

Anonymous said...

I hear that Klapatch is their next target, with Schaffrick replacing her.

7-23 8:30

And just WHAT has he accomplished in "taking on" the Unions?

He has not made one positive suggestion relative to the unions, or to reducing taxes.

As was said before, all hat and no cattle.

And that goed for both Kennys

Anonymous said...

I heard it was Mrs. Krawiecki: that is why Ed is staying involved.

Anonymous said...

Too bad Rimcoski and Cockayne aren't going head to head.

July 25, 2008 6:47 PM;

Rimjobski owes his allegence to Bill Stortz.

The GOP now has two elements as the Dumbocrats always seem to as well.
