Mayor hails release of hostage

Note this morning from Mayor Art Ward to Jo Rosano, the mother of freed hostage Marc Gonsalves:

Jo, the people of the City of Bristol celebrate with you upon learning of the return of your son Marc to family and freedom. We are grateful that the anguish of the wait of the past five years is finally behind you and wish you, Marc and your family a healthy and bountiful future.

Great great news. I think Marc deserves a welcome home parade straight down the Blvd.!

Art, no picture?

? - 2:23pm - guess that you can't exhibit any respect at all - what a complete turd - hope that the "pooper scoopers" pick you up and dispose of you in the nearest trash receptacle.

Um, no, no parade please. It was terrible what this guy and his family went through, but he doesn't deserve a parade.

So how did this email get to you Steve, when you answered a previous post that the mayor rarely cc's e-mails to you?

so the public shouldn't know that the mayor has contacted a bristol family on the good fortune of their son's release from captivity?
seems to me to just be another "screwed if he did, screwed if he didn't" times from a disgruntled moron.
look at the positive side, at least the mayor gave you something new to whine about - loser.

Contacting the family is one thing, making a self serving PR situation out of it is another!

Classless.

~ If Art said nothing, the blog dolts would be screaming for his head ~ accusing him of being callous and insensitive. When he does mention it, he's accused of being "classless."

~ If you'd really like to see what classless looks like 12:32, take a nice long look in the mirror.

sniffle, sniffle, sniffle

The class act would have been to send them the letter and let THEM publicize if they chose to do so.

Was the letter for their benefit, Art's or the publics?

Good job, Mayor Ward. This family has been suffering for a long time, but now you have helped give them comfort as their heroic son returns home safe after putting himself in harm's way and losing years of his freedom and health as a result of bravely serving his country.

The letter was nice, but Emailing it to the Media, YUK!

I find it interesting that John Mc Cain was there when the rescue occured . ( Barely mentioned in the media )

I can't help but think if a democrat had been there @ the time of the rescue , that he would have taken full advantage and the media would have credited HIM for the entire operation .

Just a point of ponderation . ;-)

Give Ward a chance he will be all over this one. Photo op to the max.

With all these hostages have been through, I think "anonymous", you should be ashamed of yourself. I wonder how long YOU would last in the jungle? They lasted over 5 years. I bet you'd last 5 minutes, if that. Shame on you. You don't deserve any more thoughts or comments. You are a loser!
