The Greater Bristol Labor Council opted to make no endorsement in this year's mayoral race, a move that clearly helps Republican Ken Cockayne's chances since the council normally backs Democrats.
Its council choices demonstrated that, too.
In the 1st District, the council backed Democrats Calvin Brown and Steve Jeffries.
In the 2nd District, Democrat Bob Vojtek got the nod along with Republican Rich Miecznikowski.
In the 3rd District, the two Democratic contenders, Mary Fortier and Ellen Zoppo-Sassu, secured the council’s endorsement.
