Burns not running again?

The word swirling around the statehouse is that state Rep. Ron Burns, a first-term Republican from Bristol, won't seek reelection this year.

Burns, who represents the 77th District, said last week he hasn't made up his mind. Since he promised to call me as soon as he does - and is pretty reliable for a politician - I don't think he's made a firm decision yet.

But it may well come today.

Wednesday morning update: Or maybe today?

I can only imagine the idiot Schaffrick & Co. will "pick" to replace Burns on the ticket this year.

Wright is estatic.

This is bizarre. Does "fair and balanced" Stortz have something to do with this in one way or another?

This is the only hope Chris Wright had in winning.

Burns should run against Colapietro and Jerome run against Wright.

Donna,

If you're reading this, I think you'd be an excellent candidate against Wright.

You're smart, sweet, hard-working and attractive (the latter helps a lot).

I'll bet you'd get plenty of support from your party, your friends and other Bristol-ites.

Go for it. Now's the time to win.

--Yeah if you want two Republican losses.

Maybe Cockayne will move: he is single, so it shouldn't be a problem.
