Cleanup coming at Yankee Gas yard

You know that hideous utility work yard at the eastern end of Memorial Boulevard? It's been an eyesore for years.
Well, it might get spruced up.
Mayor Art Ward said that he met with utility officials recently and showed them the condition of the property. He said he asked them to clean it up.
"They were most cooperative," the mayor said, and told him they would do it.
"That's very promising," Ward said.
Let's hope it's true.
As it is, that little yard mars the view as people approach Memorial Boulevard, which is one of Bristol's gems. It shouldn't be a mess.

Now the City needs to do its own housekeeping by ripping down the trucking terminal on the other side of the street, getting both sides of that road cleaned up and making the entire connecter between the Route 72 terminus and the Boulevard look tidy and well groomed.

Don't do as I do, do as I say.

Will channel 61 report on that?

Why are people ripping channel 61 ? It's the public officials who should be getting the blame for allowing this stupid recycling inspection policy in the first place.

It's only fitting that Ch.61 should make an example of these elected officials and bureaucrats for making rules they themselves can't follow.

Maybe Mayor Ward can call the person who owns the property across from the library on Main Street.
Every time I see it I get upset.

I've been told it belongs to a politician, but that should not an excuse.

Which property, specifically?

There are big buildings on each corner of Summer, then a few lots and houses.

The empty lot with vehicles and trash, tucked away in back.

Why does Mayor Ward keep appointing this guy with the trashy property to city commissions?

10:38AM.....HEY NERDO, WARD HAS ONLY BEEN IN OFFICE SINCE NOVEMBER SO HOW MANY TIMES COULD HE HAVE APPOINTED THIS PERSON TO ANYTHING AND WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS PERSON WHO YOU ARE SAYING IS GETTING THESE APPOINTMENTS?

How long does he have to be in office to make a phone call to the owner. Or have the Zoning officer call and back him up?

He called the RR when, and only when, his Guru Leone, told him to.

Still a mess on Main Street.

Oh well, not surprised.

The politicians all stick together.

Where is our Blight Officer: for Main Street, for the Boulevard, for other city property?
