Grand List delayed a month

In case anyone wonders, the city's annual Grand List of taxable property won't be ready until the end of February this year, which is typical of revaluation years. Normally, it's completed at the end of January, but things get a little dicier during reval and officials need more time to check and doublecheck everything.

It seems to complicate the evaluation process when the city officials keep tearing down homes , garages , porches , etc .... without court proceedings to hamper the 'progress' .

Re: 10:59 Post

Yes, that must be the reason for the delay. Oh my goodness!! Your reasons would take about 5 minutes of work. It's the entire reval. process.

Do you think that perhaps your whining and simpering over the loss of garbage properties has gone on long enough? So far, that I recall the dump that fool hauled across Main Street to create a monument to stupidity, a porch and a garage have been torn down. Several additional buildings are at risk of demolition because they ARE UNSAFE for human occupancy.

What is you major malfunction? Buildings that are structurally unsafe, have raw sewage percolating in the basements, evidence of homeless people sleeping in them, have electrical systems that are capable of burning the house down or have been without heat for months or years are being targeted if the landlord fails to plan for or make repairs for months or even years.

What would you do, leave them alone? And when a fire rips one of the dumps and the city gets sued for failing to protect the tenants, usually the most financially frail in our city, what would you say then bigmouth?

I thought that all of you anti-establishment hippies died off in the eighties but I guess a few procreated at Woodstock and you were the result.

Government has a responsibility to protect tenants and neighborhoods from scumbag landlords and walk-away owners. Wake up dude, the voices that keep telling you that “The Man” is out to get you are only in your narrow and dimly lit mind.

Blight is in the eye of the beholder .... I'm going to enjoy the day you become the target of the subjective gestapo you now support .

Hey! Don't be badmouthing Woodstock. I was there! (I think...)

"But above that, the important thing that you've proven to the world is that a half a million kids — and I call you kids because I have children that are older than you are — a half million young people can get together and have three days of fun and music and have nothing but fun and music, and I God Bless You for it!"

Thanks for the insight into the left-wing mindset rearing it's ugly head in here .

Reality is strange to some . I suppose the experts just may be right concerning the lasting effects of drug abuse .

Just distroy all the property you don't like and free bristol of people NOT the same as yourselves .... :-(
