This guy should be running for City Council- 3rd District if he truly wants to do something about what he perceives to be the "shortchanging" of Forestville.

And this is front page news because??? Yikes, slow news day.

We have 2.5 reporters covering Bristol. You do the math. There's no way that every front page story is going to be something to brag about!

I think Mr. Smith needs to check his facts before he speaks. I am not going to begrudge him the fact that he feels his part of town is lacking in services, but let's not blame the politicians for everything that goes on in this town. They are assigned to committees and do what they can with the budgets they have. By the way, it's the finance committee that deals mostly with the city's overall buget not the council. The council just votes on it.

In this economy it is very difficult for them to balance the overall budget especially when none of us want our taxes to go up. Mr. Smith needs to drive around ALL of Bristol and realize that many sections of town are in dire need of road repairs and other services that are being cut due to the poor economy.

His "fat checks" comment made me laugh out loud. Does Mr. Smith realize that these councilmen make approximately $10,000 a YEAR? Not what I would call living high on the hog by any stretch of the imagination. What does their meager paychecks have anything to do with his gripes anyway? Your point, Mr. Smith?

10:32 - you are right, what is smith's point, didn't hear any specific gripes, only whining.
Is he a member of the forestville village association, has he given his concerns to any one or is he lavishing in his 15 seconds of fame?

Oh please! This is front page news? Tomorrow do we get the complainer from Chippen's Hill, and then Wednesday from Federal Hill.
This is coffee shop tabloid stuff.
If the Bristol Press is going to convince me to renew my subscription when it is due - you are going to have to do better than putting this in the paper at all - let alone page one! This belongs in letters to the editor.

let's see, getting a new greene hills school, new route 72 - pine street revival, just had new renovations to the library, new land given for the memorial park, scheduled renovations to the senior center - yup, guess forestville is being neglected - has this guy ever stepped off the property that he was pictured on in today's press?

wonder if this gentleman who is seeking a "fair shake" even knows that "Fair Street" is actually in Forestville.

Federal Hill folk walk on water . If ANYONE doesn't have a gripe it would be them .

It would have been nice to have a front page headline " Bristol Vandalized ... Teacher arrested "

I guess the teachers union is a little too powerful for the press to take on . :-(

about the only thing that we can count on throughout this recession, and beyond, is that this blog will maintain it's population of naysaying, thought challenged, idiots who always survive at the cost of others.

so does this smith guy plan on doing anything with his 15 seconds of fame or just migrating back into his cocoon?
