Veteran's Benefits and Information Fair on April 19

The Connecticut Department of Veterans' Affairs is sponsoring a Veteran’s Benefits and Information Fair in Hartford on Saturday, April 19.

The session aims to provide veterans with information and easy access to the various services available to them, according to state Rep. Frank Nicastro, a Bristol Democrat who represents the 79th District.

The fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Avenue in Hartford.

The fair will feature a wide variety of information tables where federal and state agencies, as well as veterans’ service organizations, educational institutions and non-profit organizations, will be distributing to veterans what types of services are available. Information seminars will also be held throughout the day. Topics such as employment opportunities, health benefits, financial assistance, counseling and support networks are just some examples of what will be discussed.

This is nice. Pandering to the "vets" is how Nicastro beat Diamantis.

Shows how out of touch he is that he is pushing an event on the same day the BRISTOL veterans are having their own large event at the Boulevard to commemorate the Battle of Seicheprey in which 9 Bristol men were killed and for which the American Legion Hall is named.

Huh? Nicastro is merely letting veterans who need services or help know about a very large event designed to help them. Nicastro didn't set the date. It's for the entire region.
And any of us who regularly go to veteran's ceremonies in town know that turnout won't include more than fraction of Bristol's 5,000+ veterans.

No news is good news. Can't beat that "cut and paste" huh Steve?

No wonder why the Press is in dire straits.

Somebody's complaining about Nicastro issuing press releases?? Every day, we get something from Burns and Hamzy but Nicastro gets grief for issuing one? Get real!
