Ellen Zoppo-Sassu, a Democrat running for Mayor, announced today that she has created a campaign website at

It's too bad that THE TEAM is on her website. I'm disappointed because I would have voted for the 2 democrat councilmembers in my district. I can't vote for them now knowing that they are so closely connecting themselves to Ellen. I haven't heard from any of them yet in mailers or letters so at this point anything that they say or mail out I will question if they did it on their own or if it was written/edited by Ellen to reach a benefit for her campaign for mayor. I want councilmembers that can stand on their own two feet - not get carried around. As of right now I don't see a single candidate for any local office that I would vote for. I bet the polling numbers will be very low this election. I have many friends that feel the same way I do.

More amazing are the credits she is taking on for herself when other boards and people were responsible for the success of them. Roberts property is a fiasco! Typical style of her to give herself the credit. I won't vote for any one in my district so closely tied to her! As for the success of the dog park, its just one giant area of city property and a free for all for a select few. The area in Rockwell was given and approved by the park board NOT by Ellen. Maybe she should re-script her webpage and get the information correct.

How come Tom Ragani is not part of her team?

Where is Frank? Is this just a few select by the "Den Mother?"

Talk about an egotist, my goodness, can't these other "team" members see that the only thing that ellen worries about is "I".
Sayonara to the bunch of you and the naive newcomers whom you have snow balled into puppets.

They're a "team" because they have a shared vision of a better Bristol and the leadership abilities to make it happen. Ward and Ragaini, on the other hand, are a couple of nice guys who have never shown any leadership and whose only platform is "it's my turn" and "I want another turn" respectively.

Well, well, guess the Den Mother had to post a comment without using her name. Either that or she got "yes man Minor" to do it for her!

As a voter I don't find comfort in a team of people that have the same beliefs in everything. I would feel better about individuals that have different views and missions that can work together, listen and respect the ideas and progressive thinking that the CITIZENS have conveyed to them.

The TEAM approach that Ellen has on her website indicates that she is the leader of the team and the others are followers. I don't want a pied pipper as a Mayor. I want someone that will listen to the council members and the concerns and ideas that the citizens bring to them to be addressed. I don't think that Bristol will benefit from a "my way or the highway" mentality which we have all witnessed for too many years now.

Terryville has a Mayoral candidate that is very young, but at least he has enough common sense to state how adamant he is about working for the citizens of their town and not for an individual party or team.

I agree 100%. Zoppo cannot work with others, and she has shown this many times over the years. If
people don't agree with her - watch out! I don't trust all those boys following her - that is not team work, its called not standing up for yourself & working on behalf of the citizens. There is a name for men like that, but I don't want to say it.
My vote will be for Ward who isn't afraid to speak up, speak out and he works great with others. I am sure who ever gets on the council, he will work with them. Johnson would be great as a councilman and I wish he went for that seat first, but if I had to choose between the two I would go for Ward. I am voting for anyone who steps up to take over the seats the so called "Zoppo Team"

Previous mayoral and council candidates ran as a slate...remember all those "Team Couture" teeshirts last time? So why do some people have a problem with "Team Ellen?" Is it because she is challenging the good ol' boy network? I'm working to help her because her platform is a little more than "but it's my turn!".

If you remember Craig, you & Ellen voted for the downtown when Couture was in. So the difference now is what? You can't win votes on your own merit so attach yourself to the backs of Ellen and Frank. If Art didn't vote for the downtown plan you would bash him. He voted to move ahead on downtown under Stortz and you still are bashing him. Does anything make you happy? Seems to me you are so close to the backend of Ellen you can't see clearly.

I think that Craig Minor missed the point of the comments prior to his.

Yes, we all remember the "Team" campaign slogans of past administrations. The point is that none of those "TEAMS" ever really existed. It was a nice slogan, but they weren't real.

It has nothing to do with challenging the "good ole boy" network, it has to do with the inability to work productively with people that may not always agree with you. Ellen and Art have BOTH proved that they CAN'T do it. Ellen uses questionable deception tactics to leave colleagues out of her loop and Art keeps his distance from people that he can't get along with. What will happen to Team Ellen if one of the members doesn't agree with one of her missions or her approach to something?

Craig, put the politicians view aside of "good ole boy network" and "my turn" mudslinging and try and look at this election from the voters perspective - You will hear the votes say that they don't want the same old - same old. We want new voices and new ears that will represent the citizens of Bristol for once. You know - TEAM BRISTOL.

New voices have been fooled into attaching themselves to TEAMS. This is hurting them. Voters don't want to elect someone tied to Art Mocabee of the GOP because they've seen how vicious and distructive he can be. Voters also don't want to elect someone tied to Ellen and Art because they have just had enough of the "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" scenario.

The voters have very few choices right now. It's more like lesser of evils, not choices.

Minor you are helping Ellen because you can't "think", "speak" or "act" without her. If I remember right you too were part of the Couture team, as was Ellen when she wasn't so busy backstabbing everyone, including Lavigne.

Zoppo, Minor & McCauley was a team - a team of pathetics.

Not many truths to some of these so called "accomplishments."
Guess maybe she thinks no one is aware of it?
