Council hopeful Rich Kilby weighs in on script controversy

1st District Democratic City Council contender Rich Kilby recently sent me this statement:

I feel nothing wrong was done, wouldn't you would like to know what's happening at a very special Ordinance Meeting, so you could do your homework, when questions are asked you could give a detail summary of whatever plan is on the table, get the taxpayers comments and move forward in the best direction. Whether it's Art, Ellen, or Bill you need to know what is going on.

Seems to me that Mr. Kilby missed the part about worryimg about the ensuring that Ward didn't have knowledge of the process, the retention of the "scripts" and the worry about preventing "leaks".
Needs to do more homework prior to offering up opinions.

I agree, Mr. Kilby really missed the part where MZ. Zoppo withholds necessary information from the whole council. One has to wonder what other important city documents etc. she held from people doing work for the city.

Secrecy and exclusion are negative practices to be avoided at all costs in government.
The inescapable fact of secrecy debunks claims that this scripting incident was above-board. The only conclusion that is not subject to people's opinion or spin is that Art Ward WAS intentionally denied access to meeting information provided to others.
Ordering all notes destroyed immediately afterward, also is not subject to opinion.

Had Art Ward done this same thing to Zoppo, would she cite an ethics violation? What do you think?

Wonder if the meeting in question could be subject to either a city Ethics Committee review or could be a violation of open government to be considered by the state (FOI) Freedom Of Information Commission?

So Mr. Kilby sees nothing wrong with this type of scripting by Zoppo? Tell me why I should vote for you if you are okay with Zoppo calling the shots? If this was done to Zoppo she would have been crying "poor me" to the ethics board. Maybe the ethics board should take a look at her process of getting things done. I think the press should FOI her city emails!!
