Future developer of downtown?

Could be this firm, one of two that sought the job when bids were opened last week at City Hall. The other was the more familiar, homegrown D'Amato Construction.

CANT WAIT TO SEE WHO AT CITY HALL SCREWS THIS UP. WE HAVE NO ONE TO PUT THIS TOGETHER.

The out of town firm is light years ahead of the local firm.
They touched most of the bases and demonstrated a much better understanding of the needs of Bristol.

Now comes the politics!

And Bristol will lose out again.

Ward will keep it in the family.

Make sure the new downtown hotel has a parking lot big enough for the truck drivers and the hookers.

Can we buy take the 15 blocks around the center mall by eminent domain as well? That will clean up the immediate area....

Way to piss on the parade guys. What a bunch of pinheads.

Sometimes it's nice to support the local folks, but it tends to be the same ones like Carpenter, D'Amato, etc. You know what happens when it's an "inside job." Things can be overlooked which in this case should not be. Let's get it right this time. We need to go out of the city for this one, although I'm sure Rimkowski will feel differently since his bud is one of the ones being considered. Another reason to go out of the city. We need to skip the favortism. Too many conficts of interest with local.

Ward and Rimkowski could screw up a wet dream. The out-of-town firm never had a chance.

While future development in this economy is a way off this is good news. Yet the whiners have nothing good to say and turn everything negative. It is positive that any developer is interested in exploring this opportunity.

How much money is each firm bringing to the table, or is the city and state supposed to fund the cost of development while the developer puts up a token investment?

The winner of this contract should (with out a doubt) be the one who contributed most to the Bristol Democrat Party.

interesting. sounds like renaissance downtown knows what its doing. better to leave it to the pros than to the home grown types who have no vision and don't even know what economic sustainability even means.

No wonder Artie and Mikey are such good buddies.

At this point, there is no money on the table. The BDDC will look at the qualfications of each firm and perhaps pick one to lead the development effort. The details about who pays for what will follow, but everyone involved recognizes there will be city, state and maybe even federal money involved if anything's going to happen that's noteworthy.

You can count on Ward to keep this one in the family for sure. I am certain Ward already made promises.

Don't count on the Republicans to provide any relief.

7:34,

Once again, your total lack of ability to use punctuation or put together a cogent thought speaks volumes about your intelligence (or lack thereof).

I agree, but who else is there to vote for?

The local developer is a lock for political reasons: and that is why Bristol is going backWARD.

Anonymous said...

Which of the two applicants were seen at Ward's fundraiser yesterday? Hmmmmm.......

Anonymous said...

One has to support their family, don't they?

You are right on the money!

Ward wants D'amato, and that is the way it is going to go.

Politics as usual, and the taxpayer gets it in the neck again!
