The Greater Bristol Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the first, and perhaps only, mayoral debate.
It will be held at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at Nuchies.
All three candidates -- incumbent Democrat Art Ward, Republican Mary Alford and independnet Gary Lawton -- are expected to attend.
Check with the chamber for more information.

WOW I can hardly wait...
(sarcasm)
I really cant wait! I want to see what new ideas Ward has for the city...I know money is tight, but that does not justify for not coming up with some new ideas on how to generate new tax dollars or make life easier for the tax payers. So yes - I cant wait! The other 2 should come to that debate with ideas and not just bitch about Ward because that does nothing to win votes - voters want ideas - ideas - ideas! How do you grow the city? How do you attract business to come to Bristol? How do expand technology to all the residents? IE: broadband - WIFI for the city. Those are just a few - but I am sure people have a ton more to share.
This will be promoted as the "Chamber Comedy Hour".
I hope that someone asks the mayor why he is letting the Comptroller work part time, part time when we are facing a fiscal crisis?
Why is he allowing special treatment: or is he afraid of him.
The public deserves to know,
Great place to work: get enough time off to have a part time job.
No wonder we are in $$$ trouble.
stortz would bury all three!
Stortz....A ledgend in his own mind.
Opps that would imply he had one, sorry.
So would Zoppo
Yah, okay Bill. Enough already.
And probably a half dozen others too!
But then, the mighty trio doesn't care: they will still be in charge of nothing.
Hopefully the mayor will explain the details of the impending EIGHT MILLION dollar deficit.
We deserve to know.
8:00am - when most taxpayers are at work? Gee - Ward sure picks the best times to suit his needs.
Will the Chamber allow proxies?
What is an Independnet?
WARDS UNION FRIENDS ARE REALLY RUNNING THE SHOW. WHAT ARE THE UNION BOYS BEING PROMISED.
It seems like two of the three candidates are being "run" by others.
Only Lawton seems to be his own person.
But that seems to be the norm in Bristol.
Strong individual candidates seem to get smacked down from within.
