City Councilor Craig Minor said a few minutes ago that he will seek a new vote on the West Bristol school site at tonight's meeting.
Minor, who opposed the Scalia site last week, said he'll change sides and back the spot this time around, which should provide a majority for the Barlow Street sandpit site.
Minor said he prefers the Divinity Street locale, but there's nothing wrong with the Scalia site. He said it is his second choice.
And because he can't get the votes to approve the Divinity and Park streets site, Minor said he'll join the three councilors who backed the Scalia location for a new 900-student, K-8 school.
So it appears the council tonight will endorse the Scalia site four days after turning it down.

FYI- The people voting for Scalia are not going to be re-elected next time around. Mark my words. Better think twice Minor !! That is the worse site ever. No infrastructre in the area at all and all students need to be bused in?? What an irresponsible and absolute WASTE of tax dollars . Unbelievable
Keep in mind that on the Park Steet site ALL current Bingham students would be bussed, as would maybe 70-80 per cent of the remaninder.
No big increase.
Offer a better solution.
I prefer we weren't even heading in the direction of mega school k-8, but it seems as if that is a done deal.
I believe the committee acted appropriately and put for th the best option in their mind.
None of the options were great. Unfortunately they chose this site by default. Crappy way to make a decision, but those were the waters they were swimming in.
The issue that everyone is missing here is that a former mayoral contender on the Democrat side has clearly lost her grip on her minions. She supported Park/Divinity.
First McCauley grew some uhhhh, backbone, and then Block developed his own opinion, now Minor has cut the apron strings. So it’s Artie’s show now. All of the councilors are thinking for themselves, for better or for worse.
These votes, that abandon both former loyalties and party lines are a healthy sign.
I'm surprised he didn't ask for a recess so he could consult with his adviser.
Wipe everything out from OConnell to West Street, build the school and Boys Club there and eliminate the drug trade in that area.

let build a BIG warehouse on a sandpit. Then put all the kid from Bristol in it and watch it sink in to the ground ! Oh and lets Bus all the kids in!!! First Student can't do the job now, what make you think they will be able to bus kid across town later !!

How did Cliff Blockhead ever get elected?
Cause Mocabeee and the republicans ran (could get) only one candidate in that district.
