So what'd you think of Obama's speech to Congress?

The president talked. Did you listen? Did you watch? What'd you think of it?

Great speech! aren't we fortunate to have an articulate President!

disgusting. government will control every part of our lives by the time Obama is done.

Very articulate.

But are his promises realistic, or is he campaigning still, or again?

We are sooooooooooooooooooooooo screwed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are the massive tax breaks! Where are the massive tax breaks for companies to start hiring? Where are the massive tax breaks for you and me? An extra $20 in my paycheck is not going to do anything to get our economy going again. The President is a great speaker, and is great at pumping you up to forget that everything that he has done will not do a damn thing to get banks to start lending again. What he has done has slowly taken us down a slippery slope of SOCIALISM!

From Southington; Good speech. Thank god we finally have someone that can speak well. This is indeed a dark time, but Obama has a plan and is doing as well as expected.

REPUBLICANS FOR OBAMA! We approve of his speech & plans. Thanks.

Great speech, but just once i wish a President would talk to the nation from the heart w/o prepared remarks. That would be genuine and sincere. And I hate how they always release to the Media exactly what the speech is going to say. I hate hearing about it ahead of time. Just let the guy give his speech and listen up. Whats so hard?

Unfortunetly, As long as there have been Presidents there have been speechwriters.

All of these "promises" will go the way of his campaign promises.

Until 2012!

The speech was spectacular! He's AMAZING!!!

I especially loved this part of the speech (see below). Pay particular attention to his reference to "my first term in office."

"Yesterday, I held a fiscal summit where I pledged to cut the deficit in half by the end of my first term in office. My administration has also begun to go line by line through the federal budget in order to eliminate wasteful and ineffective programs. As you can imagine, this is a process that will take some time. But we're starting with the biggest lines. We have already identified two trillion dollars in savings over the next decade."

I loved the way President Obama smoothly slipped that phrase into the speech. Nobody I talked with today noticed it.

I wish he could be President for 12 years!

OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA!

Good idea. Lets lengthen the presidents term of office restriction to 12 years, so they could actually get something done! Maybe a Mayors term should be longer than 2 years as well.

Didn't "the firm hand of government" just triple the national debt? Are we out of Iraq? Are our financial situations any better? No, everything is worse, and we are losing our freedoms all over the place. That articulate president is a smooth-talking snake.

9:11AM : Concur with your assessment. What really annoys me is these people who come on directly after the Presidents' speech to tell me what he just said!Do the network moguls think the viewers are that unintelligent they don't have a command of the English language?Contrary to what the network moguls apparently think, viewers need only to hear the speech once and make teir OWN assessment WITHOUT assistance from these so called "experts."

Hey you gotta admit, it was more entertaining watching the clueless wit of George W. Bush trying to give a speech without messing it up, LOL. Obama is too well spoken. Musta learned from Clinton

Bush spoke from the heart, and his heart was genuinely American. B. Hussein Obama is trying to lull you to sleep so you don't notice that he is ripping down everything this country has stood for, especially our freedom. Be happy your president is articulate, if you like, but watch what he's doing. If you're really paying attention, you will be terrified.

Bush assumed that Americans wanted freedom, safety, enough to eat, and good health care. But they didn't want those things; Americans wanted change. Well, it's ALL changing. Voters will lose big for their stupidity. Socialized (and proven inferior) health care, vulnerability to attack, mortgaging our children's future, heavier taxation, rampant unemployment... all of this will be ours. We're paying a high price for an "articulate" president. (He's only a good speaker if you are looking for a cheerleader; he says nothing of any substance if you actually listen to the words.)

What did I think of Obama's speech? There are no words, except maybe "disgusting."

He'd better veto all those earmarks like he promised he would during the campaign.
