Moylan and Ward to have lunch

Hoping to stifle a growing tenseness on the Board of Finance, Mayor Art Ward and Janet Moylan, a finance board member who's clashed with him, plan to sit down for lunch next week to try to work things out.
Comptroller Glenn Klocko said that his office hopes they succeed because less tension would make it easier for everyone to focus on the budget itself.
Moylan apparently called Ward this morning to begin to calm the waters.

You do know what everybody REALLY wants to know, right Steve? WHO'S PAYING? :)

I'll work on that.

Moylan wasn't the only one to question Ward.
Messier, Peterson, Thibideau did also, and even the new commissioner raised questions.

Hopefully that continues!

I hope Moylan doesn't back down.

The city will be covering the cost of lunch. Official business.

I hope Art took it out of his $300/mo expense account!

It should be Dutch Treat with each paying for their own.

No city official, elected or appointed should take a free lunch from anyone else.

3:22 keep dreaming. They all take stuff for free. Ethically and morally its wrong. Cops do as well, free coffee, food etc. When I was in school for criminal justice I was told that it was illegal for them to take such items/gifts, but that hasn't stopped them.

Heard that the Mayor of New Haven laid off a number of people today.

Too bad that Ward doesn't have the chutzpah that Stortz did when he laid people off when he had to.

Why doesn't he take me to lunch? I'm smarter and better looking than her!

Well, CC, I guess you're not who I thought you were. ;)

"Too bad that Ward doesn't have the chutzpah"

....You mean "the chutzpah" like someone who critcizes and insults the mayor anonymously has?

concerned conservative - at least moylan makes some sense and isn't as crude and ruthless as you - maybe you can learn something from her - as if you would ever admit that someone might know more than you.

Moylan is a breath of fresh air.

Hope she receives some support!
