Bristol, ESPN would be happy to show Palin around

Now that we all know how much Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin likes ESPN, perhaps she'll come to Bristol for a look around.
A vice president at ESPN, Mike Soltys, said the sport giant would be happy to give her a tour of the place she once wanted to work.
And you betcha I'd gladly show her around Bristol.
Mayor Art Ward, though, might want to do the honor himself.
"Absolutely," the mayor said.
He said he told someone at ESPN that if Palin ever comes, he'd gladly sit behind the SportsCenter desk with her to show bipartisan spirit. (Note to ESPN: if that happens, make sure there's a script.)
Ward said that his comment yesterday about how you can't see Russia from Bristol -- "no ill intent there," he added -- has managed to find its way through the media to a cousin in California, who promptly emailed him upon seeing it.
"I guess it'll get to Alaska now," the mayor said.

sorry I canceled my cruise to Alaska scheduled for this summer. Maybe Mayor Ward would have allowed me to bear gifts to the esteemed Gov. & her Bristol namesake. I would have been so honored.

Patti - I assume your tongue was firmly planted in your cheek when you wrote that.

Nice attitude, Ewen. I don't know you and I don't know why you would be chosen to represent our city to the governor of Alaska. But obviously there are others who are more gracious.

I'm sure Zoppo would provide a script for Ward. She's an old hand at it.

Patti:

I though you better than condescending saracsm especially when it was regarding a female state Governor. That doesn't really go well with that women's liberation stuff now does it? Oh that's right, Palin's not a neo-socialist Dumb-o-crat white-male basher, is she? Of course a liberal Democrat can't support her then.

Our city has few people as gracious as Patti Ewen. Period.

If Mayor Ward needs some one to visit Governor Palin on his behalf, I would be happy to schedule a trip to Alaska. Patti can stay home and be "gracious" with tongue in cheek. I win.

Of course Ward would show Palin around. He's been talking out of both sides of his mouth his whole term so why stop now!
After the tour he can take her across the street for a drink!

Ward.....BIG PHONY!! Stick to the Unions, that the only thing your good at!

8:58 Sweetheart, we get it! You're no friend of Mr. Ward's. He won. You or your guy lost. It's eating you up inside so you constantly lash out and attack the Mayor every possible chance you get. Feel better now? Good for you! Go have a cookie...
