Congratulations to Bristol native Michelle Guerette, who earned an Olympic silver medal in the women's single sculls rowing competition today in Beijing. Pretty darn impressive.

Especially for you since by you merely sitting in the boat, it would cause it to sink.

So why am I not surprised that even something as positive as this accomplishment cannot be reported here without it generating some wise-ass comment from the peanut gallery? Man, how pathetic is that?

I was referring to Collins by the way, not this remarkable young woman.

Congratuations sweetie. It's a heck of a lot better than tending bar at Sporty's.

You gotta love the Press. Think maybe they could've given her the FRONT PAGE!? Nice going editors. You blew that one!

The Bristol American Legion is more important.

Besides the swimming twins, have any other Bristol natives made it to the olympics?

If streaking was an event, I could win the gold, no problem.

Seriously now, was Scott Lachance ever on the hockey team at any time? What's he been doing these days anyways? He was pretty good during th 90s.

Good old Tim Gamache got his 2 cents in. Don't know what Bristol would do without his input. GET A JOB TIM

Are you suggesting I'm not entitled to an opinion? I might add you read my name, didn't catch yours.

Gamache is a annoying..just go retire someplace Gamache...go deliver newspapers or something constructive instead of boring us with your meaningless commentary which is so biased to begin with.

Gee guys, what makes you think YOUR opinion is so much more valuable than Mr. Gamache's? At least he's got enough courage to post his name and never goes into name calling tirades like some of you do (and no I'm not Mr. G, a friend or relative either). He's got the same right to comment as the rest of us.

Congratulations to Michelle, that is great news. Besides being an Olympic medalist, she's also extremely intelligent; she was valedictorian of her class at Central, and graduated from Harvard.

Congrats again to her on this great accomplishment
