Rock Cats may teach New Britain a lesson Bristol already learned
Not that past is necessarily prelude, but former Bristol Mayor Mike Werner recalls that when the Bristol Red Sox moved to New Britain to become the Rock Cats in 1982 "they promised they weren't leaving Bristol, too. They're gone."

When the team left Bristol it was part of the Red Sox franchise. Today the team is affiliated with the Twins.
Muzzy Field is small while the Rock Cat stadium is new, good-sized and has nice amenities. The team has been successful in New Britain. In Bristol, time had caught up with the team being at Muzzy.
These are a few, important reasons why circumstances today are much different.
