Connecticut’s Congressional Democrats’ failure to set a vote for reauthorization of wiretapping terrorists is pay back to their financial supporters and not in the interests of national security, according to Republican State Party Chairman Chris Healy Monday.
“For Democrats in Washington, money talks even when it comes to this nation’s security,” said Healy. “Congressmen Larson, DeLauro, Murphy and Courtney have failed a basic test of leadership by their failure to act to protect his nation.”
The current Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) expired Saturday and Democrats have stalled a simple vote on its reauthorization. The vote would make permanent the current FISA law, leaving our intelligence community hamstrung with 30-year-old laws. One of the key provisions in the FISA proposal would provide legal protection from lawsuits against telecommunications companies that provide technical assistance to monitor calls from potential terrorist threats.
“It is easy to see why the Democrats oppose this reasonable tool to prevent attacks on America – special interest money from trial lawyers,” said Healy. “As they say ‘follow the money’ and the truth will be revealed.”
The following are records of the total amount each Connecticut Democrat has received in campaign contributions to date:
Larson : $329,000 in career receipts from law firms Link

“In case Democrats don’t know it, we are at world with an enemy that knows how to use modern technology to communicate,” said Healy. “The failure of Congressmen Larson, DeLauro, Murphy and Courtney to see it and act should give every Connecticut reason to be outraged.”
Just a note: The only Connecticut congressman that Healy failed to mention, U.S. Rep. Chris Shays, who is a Republican, has taken in $335,364 from law firms during his career. I thought some might be interested in the comparison. Link

There's labor lawyers, corporate lawyers and there's ambulance chasers. There's also lawyers that put our national security at risk to either line their pockets or push forward a liberal agenda. I believe Healy's referring to the latter in regards to the Democrats. Is Shays voting against the measure or is he siding with the President and the Republical leadership?
Healy may be talking about ambulance chasers, but he's looking at exactly the same lump sum for Larson, Murphy, et.al. that I did for Shays.
If someone wants to show that the Democrats are getting their money from liberal lawyers and the Republicans are getting it from conservative ones, then you need to point to something else to back it up.

2) Would you do so much as to dis-credit a Democrat attack strategy? Are you on the congressional Democrats payroll or are you just a volunteer?
mr clinton was too busy working his deals with China to pay any attention to Americans and their needs .

I'm outraged, all right - outraged that a sphincter like Healy can get away with saying United States Congressmen are taking bribes from terrorists. How ironic that the Constitution that allows him to make outrageous accusations like this is the same Constitution that his party is trying to destroy under the pretense of "the war on terrorism", and that the Democrats, God bless them, are standing up for. I'm sure the irony is lost on him, the pin head.
I wonder what sad sack is the candidate of choice of Healy and the boys to run against Larson?
The sad sack in that race is the sack of Larson...what has he done except to take money from every pac known to man. He is a prime example of you get what you pay for. When he blows his mouth off it's all about retreating and hidding, the man has no backbone...plenty of elbow power however!
But who will the Republicans run against him?
Whats their alternative?

The top story on the 11:00 PM news on WFSB tonight revealed that Connecticut Republican Party Chairman Chris Healy was recently arrested for drunk driving.
The report quoted Healy saying, "I am an alcoholic and I have a problem." He said he is on medication for depression as well."
How about medication for stupid? Is there medicine for that?
As Healy says or should I say "meant" ? Follow the "booze" and it will lead you to Healy !
