In another example of last-minute announcements -- barely making the statutory cutoff for advance notice -- the Board of Education's Finance Committee intends to meet at noon on Friday in the Superintendent’s Conference Room of the Board of Education Administration Building, 129 Church Street, Bristol, Connecticut.
The agenda says there will be a presentation of the proposed budget, which is marked as an "action item," which presumably means that it's more than a presentation. Someone must plan for the committee to approve something or another as well. The wording really ought to be more clear.
The agenda also includes "other business," but that's illegal since it is not a regularly scheduled meeting so only items on the agenda are allowed by law.

That post should have been not allowed!! Tastless to families who have lost children!!!!
nothing at all wrong with the first post, it is the truth. sorry if it hurts to read it.
I would be the last one to defend the BOE, but what the hell is the first poster talking about?
Who is he, Elliot Offen from Howard Stern?
His rant made no sense.
Oh those Bristol schools!
I think the second poster is talking about a different thread... the one where that whack job anonymous poster is talking about "thinning the herd" by letting kids speed to their deaths.
And I think the idea of allowing it is to show the mentality that's out there. Remember, Steve said he doesn't agree with a lot of the posts. I sincerely doubt he agreed with that awful "thinning the herd" comment.
Thanks, Steve, for bringing this meeting and all its illegalities to light. I guess nobody ever learns around here.
Was the meeting illegal?
Or just inconvenient for the media?
