Here is the appointment list that Mayor Art Ward approved last week. It was distributed to the City Council as well.
The one that's at the center of contention is right at the top: City Councilor Kate Matthews to replace City Councilor Ken Cockayne as acting mayor.

This list is the unions wish. We have the two midgets trying to hold back the truth on Wards health.
all significant appointments and should be acted upon because it is both timely to do so and what Art Ward had anticipated as the agenda....police, water, parks, housing.....
The only thing midget around here is the mentality of some bloggers.
As Ken has acted so honorably in Art's absence, I hope he will continue to do so as he presides overthis week's council meeting.
The honorable thing to do is present the appointment calender, as desiged by Art, as is, and vote on the appointments as is. Clearly, this was the directn Art was taking, lets give Art the benefit of the doubt on this one..
These are not normal circumstances. Although I am not a fan, it seems that the most logical solution would be to put the senior most council member as the acting Mayor until it is known if and when Art will return to his position and if a special election is necessary.
the list was completed by mayor ward. It should stand.
If the descion is to leave Ken or appoint Kate per Art's wishes, how will the Republican Corp Counsel
decide, for his boss Art, or for his comrade Ken???
Dont let the union control city hall like they are with the MAYORS real health records the people are letting these midgets run the city.
1:26 - His "boss"? Don't make me laugh. Krawiecki has gone rogue and is working to grease the skids for his fellow-Republican's mayoral campaign. Ken's got nothing on his city council resume to show for four years on the council; but "acting mayor" for eight or nine months could put him over the top.
10:50 get real . If you acted honorably someone may believe you.

This clown would prefer to let his republicans steal anything they can get. Because they can't earn it.
The point is there IS a list and Kate is next. Time to move over, Ken. Unfortunately, this is turning into Ken is honorable and the Dems are way off base thanks to Elliot Nelson. It can't get any worse than having the head of the Dems calling for Ken to stay in the acting mayor's seat under the guise that we should not "make waves" while the mayor is incapacitated. Let's face it. You know something is not right when the dem's leading man is calling for Ken to continue on as acting mayor despite the mayor's own agenda stating otherwise. I'm sorry, but in my view city business must go on and rules need to be followed and the mayor himself made up a list which needs to be followed. We are all pulling for Artie and continuing on with city business is what he would want ... not have the city sit still.
Elliot is runing is mouth off like you cant beleive. With out art hes screwed. I think Art was the ony one to vote for him.He was beat by a nobody.
Mayor Ward made his decision beforehand. What is there to think or decide about? It should stand.
We all can appreciate that Cockayne is soo thirsty he can taste it. But, "Mad dog" should know that everyone will hate him for any underhanded actions.
Mayor Ward is a Veteran and a very loved man in Bristol.
There is no vote on Acting Mayor.
It is at the sole discretion of the mayor.
What Nelson is doing is sticking it to McCauley!
Will they ever get over the Ward/Zoppo thing?
And Krawikis integrity???
If nelson is indeed sticking it to macauley, then the voters need to remember that cocayne is in on it so that at election time people remember that cocayne will stoop as low as he can to retain the mayor's seat. the dtc needs to also act on nelson's turncoat behavior. it is unacceptable.
Nelson isn't "sticking" it to anyone and everyone is soooo over the Ward/Zoppo thing. Ward won. Zoppo lost. End of story.
Steve the questions that needs to be answered is,does Mrs Pac have a agenda prepared by Art Ward ?One would think that if such agenda the the mayor possibly summitted to Mrs Pac it should be voted on.This Marine our Mayor will survive,God Bless him and his family.
I think I read somewhere recently that the Corp Counsel's opinion is that an acting mayor cannot appoint another acting mayor. If so, Ken Cockayne will be acting mayor until next November, because there is no provision in the charter that deals with an incapacitated mayor. Scary.
Odin.
I don't think that Krawiki is telling the whole story.
What happens if Art resigns: will the then acting mayor not fill the position? For the time being?
If Art resigns, how long before the Acting Mayor has to call a meeting so that the council can select his replacement?
All the options, all the possibilities, should be spelled out so that the public has a better idea of what to expect and tgo better determine just who is playing games.
Of course, we have a loaded deck with Elliot playing both sides.
Don't the Democrats have a REAL leader?
How come everytime Ward or his pals try to stick it to McCauley and the other Democrats the Ward gang says the Ward/Zoppo thing is sooo over but whenever McCauley and the other Dems fight back, THEY are acused of keeping it going?
If "the city runs itself" like Kate Matthews has said, who does she care who is mayor? As a matter of fact why is she even on the council if she feels that way?
Oh yes, the reason probably that she wants to be on the council is to appoint people who had been arrested on felony charges to the charter revsion committee.
The charter is clear on what to do if Art were to resign: if it's before Feb 8 there must be a special election, but if it's after Feb 8 the city council gets to pick someone to be acting mayor until November. The problem is the charter doesn't say what to do if he just is not able to finish his term.
Does anyone remember how they chose an acting mayor when Leone and Warner resigned mid-term?
Is Odin Bill Stortz. If you google Odin under Wikipedia, it sure sounds like something he'd pick
1:16: i totally agree with you. it is nelson and his cronies who are insecure and feel the need to stoop as low as they can to prevent any people connected with the zoppo fiasco from gaining any ground. that is clear by the constant changing of the rules. its whatever suits them is what goes and supporting a republican when you are head of the democratic party is as low as you can go. nelson probably doesn't even care what people write or say about him. when you have no conscience what does it matter?
1:16 PM: Simple, because they are.
How come every time someone says that McCauley is Zoppo's puppet the other dems deny it, but when McCauley's perceived as being attacked, the same dems say it's all about Zoppo?
The "Zoppo fiasco???" HAHAHAHA!
YOU come on this blog and anonymous malign, insult and condemn Mr. Nelson...and you think HE has no conscience??? HAHAHAHA!
10:23: You anonymously come on this blog and support a man who doesn't support his own party that he is the head of? Boo hoo hoo!!! That is actually so sad and pathetic that it's not even a laughing matter! If you can't see what's wrong with that, then it's clear who you take orders from. Another nelson robot doing his bidding. I would love to hear what your defense of his behavior is. As far as I can see, there isn't one. The backstabbing continues from the slithering snake!
