Bristol Hospital struggles with broken steam pipe

Here's reporter Jackie Majerus' story about the crisis at Bristol Hospital today:

Following a broken gasket on a steam pipe this afternoon, Bristol Hospital lost its heat, hot water and steam for several hours.
About 11 a.m. Monday, a gasket between two steam pipes in a mechanical room in the hospital’s perioperative center failed, according to Ron Hussey, director of facilities and engineering.
Steam pressure was lost throughout the hospital, said Hussey. “Unfortunately it happened to be a key valve. It wasn’t something you could isolate. We had no alternative but to shut the building down.”
The hospital couldn’t continue with normal operations, said Hussey, but no one was hurt and no patients were evacuated. Click here for the full story.
