Leslie Williams, the man fingered in Sunday's home invasion case in New Britain that left one woman dead, is on the Connecticut sex offender registry.He registered on March 4, listing a Hartford address at 34 Huyshope Avenue. He is 6' 1" tall and weighs 180 pounds.

Why is sex tied into this? He's a sadistic murderer and that poor woman...it's so sick there are not words. The only thing more sick is the Petit murders. There needs to be firmer justice in this state!
That Cobb sicko from Waterbury killed that poor girl almost 20 years ago and he's still on "death row" getting three meals a day. Execute him now!

it appears bristol's $90 fine for being a sex offender did not deter him from driving near/past rockwell park to dump the poor woman's body...
How shameful that someone could make politics out of this tragedy. You should be totally ashamed. There will be violators of the law no matter what law you pass. You people should be very ashamed .

Everybody posted has the same idea. Jail didn't work for this waste of air and now he's done even worse. We should not waste another tax payer's cent on him - but we will, we'll try him and house him and cloth him and feed him and make sure he's comfortable and has something to do. And then the government will complain that the don't have enough money. Wake up - a big savings here! He's not the only one the world could do without.
The State failed - yet again. If you read the Courant article it states that he was released from jail with probationary terms but he didn't have anywhere to go. They "thought" he was going to live with a sister but that didn't end up being true and they didn't find that out until after the crime was committed. He wasn't eligible for a half-way house where he would be kept track of so he was living in shelters with no income.
This could have been prevented if the parole system had released him to an appropriate place where he would could be tracked, or not released him at ll, but instead they just released him to no where land. Now they say they are "surprised" by his actions.
His history proves he is ill and that should have been the main concern of the State when it came time to consider releasing him.
The State should be held partially responsible for this mans actions.

You are probably one of these pacifist anti-death penalty liberals who are making it dangerous to live in Connecticut. Perhaps that is political but if it means fixing a system that idiot liberals (Democrat or Republican) have made ineffective, then so be it.

Bottom line is that he alone is responsible for his actions no one else. Even in a halfway house he gets to go out so it was just a matter of time before he committed another crime. There is no way to keep them after they serve their too little time. And maybe they are sick as you say but there is no cure for what they have other then incarceration. You can't teach and old dog new tricks . A life of crime can't be fixed with some college courses and counseling.
