There's a public hearing slated for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford that includes among its subjects the Social Security number protection bill championed by state Rep. Frank Nicastro, a Bristol Democrat.
If people want to testify, they should "most certainly" come to the hearing in Room 1C, Nicastro said.
Nicastro said other measures are also on the agenda so his bill is not the only topic of discussion. But if anyone wants to speak on it, they can sign up at the hearing and they'll get a shot (fair warning: it can take awhile).

Where can I go to read the proposed bill?

Thanks Steve
I read the bill and I have questions. Does this prevent landlords from acquiring a social security number for a credit check prior to signing a lease? I doubt that it does, but I'm not clear on the "for purpose of leasing..." statement.
The way I read it, it just seems to prevent people from putting people's social security numbers in a public area, which I thought was already protected with confidentiality law.
Pass the law ...... We democrats need all the illegal voters we can get .
But just think of all the mileage Frank is getting.
