Some mandate relief may be coming

The New London Day has the story.
I would say, though, that the idea of dropping printed legal notices in newspapers is a terrible one. It would eliminate the one tried-and-true method of letting the public know what's going on at city and town halls across the state.
If they all had busy, active, wonderful websites that residents routinely checked, I might agree that the requirement is archaic. But let's face it, most of the government's websites are a snooze and few people use them.

    Why doesn't Ward work on reducing some of the mandated costs of local government, as well as some of the unnecessary costs?

    He has done nothing but sit on his hands and whine.

    The mayor gets over 100K/yr: it is his job to run the city in the most efficient manner possible.

    What has HE done in this regard?

    Why isn't he reducing staff, asking for input, soliciting ideas?

    Wht hasn't called on people like Ellen Zoppo, who did the eficiency study a few years back?

    Many ideas have been suggested: how many, if any, has he implemented?

    I will probably get a wise cracking reply from you, but nothing of substance, as usual.
