DeFronzo takes job with Malloy administration

State Sen. Donald DeFronzo, a New Britain Democrat and a leading foe of the proposed busway between New Britain and Hartford, is taking a job as head of administrative services with the administration of Gov.-elect Dan Malloy.
What it means for the busway, who knows?
New Britain's mayor, Tim Stewart, is probably going to run for DeFronzo's seat in a special election. Stewart is the leading proponent of the busway.

  1. Hopefully this will not hinder efforts to "de-rail" the Busway debacle.

  2. Yeah, so we can spend even more money we don't have on trains! Amen!

I agree with your sentiments. I'm not for either. Albeit a train-line may be practical in 30 years.

I agree with your sentiments. Neither idea makes much sense to me. Perhaps in thirty years a rail line will be practical. We are an individual transportation based region.

If Stewart runs for State Senate, I would support the Democrat or whomever runs against him. And I almost always support Republicans.

    Hopefully you're Stewart's campaign manager.

    All:

On another issue I couldn't understand why Stewart would give a shot at keeping his six figure mayor job for a part time job in the Legislature. Then I remembered he's a former city dept. head, which explains his train-of-thought regarding policy or lack there-of. At least Rell isn;t Gov., she'd probably appoint him the next head of the DOT.
