Colapietro lost to Welch

State Sen. Tom Colapietro, an 18-year incumbent from Bristol, lost a close race today to Republican challenger Jason Welch.
Colapietro said he wished Welch luck.
"I don't envy him," Colapietro said.
Colapietro fell short mostly because Plymouth and Harwinton voters backed Welch strongly. In Bristol and Plainville, the race was a true squeaker.
Anyone know when Bristol last had a Republican state senator?

  7. Just how much did Welch spend?

Will be interesting to see if the Press reports on that in the near future.

Where did it all come from?

Get a clue will you? The answer is not as much as the unions have with our tax money.

But I must give it to Colapietro. He made a classy exit last night. Good for him. Bon voyage sir.

    What's the matter? Couldn't sleep?

No matter how much Welch spent, it was worth every penny.

Too bad Colapietro saved all his class for his exit. It might have turned out differently if he had used some during his campaign.

Well one thing is for sure, he's not bought and paid for by the CT AFL-CIO as Colapietro was.

  18. How much did he spend? Is the Press going to report on it?

It's all taxpayer money you idiot!

Colapietro got help from State Democrats and spent more.

Jason Welch won fair and square. He didn;t attack Colapietro's wife or kids like tommy did.

Good bye toomy boi and john girl (boi) his union hack

  20. Definitately a classy exit for Tommy C. Welch was the poster boy for what most voters seemed to be looking for this year.

  21. Hey folks,
Connecticut has public financing which they both qualifyed for, so they both had the exact same amount of your money to spend on their elections!
While I don't approve of public financing, it sure helped Jason to even the playing field

  22. Again, it will be nice to know just how much each spent, where, and where from.

Seems like someone is suggesting that they could not spen any more than the gov't gave them. Is that true?
