Welch calls on Colapietro to debate

Press release from Jason Welch, the GOP state Senate candidate in the 31st District:
The Welch Campaign calls for Senator Tom Colapietro to debate the issues and stop the negative campaign tactics. “Voters are concerned about the economy, jobs, and the ever growing state budget deficit”, Jason Welch said. “They deserve to hear ideas from the people who are running for elected office, not insinuation and innuendo about someone’s personal life.”
Welch went on to challenge Tom Colapietro to a debate on the issues that concern the voters in the 31st district. “Senator Colapietro has been in office 18 years and should have a good handle on the issues and should be well prepared to debate them”, Welch said.
The Welch Campaign has already agreed to the request by the Chamber of Commerce to participate 3 debates in October, but the Colapietro camp has yet to respond. “I would like to think that an 18 year incumbent would not resort to negative attack ads but, instead, stand and defend his voting record.” Welch stated. “I look forward to a civil and vigorous issue based debate in October.”

  4. Welch lets hear what you have to offer? Steve has Jason come up with a platform that voters can visibly see ? Respect your elders Jason !

  5. Brent, if you would open your eyes and read ANYTHING Jason has provided, you would see his platform, plan and how much more qualified he is to handle our state's issues than Tom Colapietro. Respect intelligence!

  6. Brent:

Why don't you check out Jason's website at: http://whoosjasonwelch.com/issues.html

Where is Tom's platform for solving the state's issues? Does he have a website we All can go on and read Tom's ideas?? Is Tom's ideas more of the same, which have let to a 3.5 billion dollar deficit?

Why doesn't Tom want to Debate Brent?

  7. Brent:

Welch hasn't had time to develop a platform. Been too busy breeding seven kids. Clear sign of an ego out of control. Disgusting!

  8. Brent,

Jason has not shown any disrespect. He's been nothing but honest. I'm sure you'll get to see what he has to offer when he debates Tommie, unless Tommie's too scared that is.

  10. 2:24 pm: Unless you are supporting Mr. Welch's children, you should have absolutely nothing to say about the size of his family.

How pathetic is it when someone will try to use what school you went to or how many kids you have against you. Sure makes it sound like Mr. Welch's competition is getting desperate now, doesn't it?

As CT taxpayers, we would ALL be supporting boy wonder the incredible breeder if he gets into office!

    Think about it, Einstein!

  12. @2:24 PM Who are you to say how many children a person can have? If you ask me, this is a fundamental invasion of privacy. Why should we as members of society be asked to support those who choose to have no children?

It just goes to show how desperate Tommy is when he has to resort to Jason's prep school attendance and decision to have 7 children as attacks against him. If you ask me it's pretty lame— but then again, so is Colapietro

  13. Here is just plain old proof that these Nazi's think they can lie cheat call names and when the truth comes out they cry like the babies they are . You guys aren't even worth the paper this blog is on. I urge all of you to read the comments on the Bristol Press and then judge for yourself who is throwing mud!

  14. Think about this, Eisintein: When Welch gets into office he will be making the same amount of money that Colapietro would have made, no matter how large his family is.

How many children he has really remains a non-issue for everyone except his increasingly desperate competition (LMFAO!)

  15. Hey 1:45 Jason's platform is your OLD platform that says nothing but your old wish list. What are you going to cut Jason?

    ReplyDelete
  16. We all want to see the negative attack adds that now they even have Jason lying about. Lets see them Jason. You know show us !

  17. 2:24 How pathetic are you ?

  18. Breeder boy can have 20 kids as long he isn't asking me to support them.

Remember, State Senators receive taxpayer-supported benefits, including health care. That means he and his entire brood would be on the state dole.

Don't think for a minute he didn't thinking about this when contemplating a run for office. Welch shouldn't be trusted or given the benefit of the doubt.

    After all, he's a lawyer!

  19. Even worse than being a lawyer, he's a teabagger!

  20. Colapietro and his union thug supporters only spew hatred and negativity. Welch has been above it all. He shows true leadership, while Tommie jumps in the fray with his thug friends.

Tommie boi is getting scared! No funding, no excuses. You made your bed with your tax and spend friends and we aint havin it any longer.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Are you really going to bring his children into this?

That is the lowest of low. All candidates know not to go after someone's family.

You guys must be terrified to stoop so low.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Wasn't it one of you lowlife slimeballs that called Colapietro's wife a "Mail order wife" That's why it was taken off the Bristol Press comments. That's low but that's you !

    ReplyDelete
  23. Breeder boy? Wow. They really ARE getting desperate. I guess when you can't run on your own merit, plan B is to go on the attack and pull out all the stops! I think I can hear Tommie rattling from here.

Vote Jason Welch! Time for a change.

  24. A debate? From Welch? How can someone with NO political experience debate anyone? It's a joke. It'll be the same old Republican crap about lowering taxes but NEVER how. He can't possibly know what to do at a government level if he's never even seen the inside of any government building.
Someone said Welch doesn’t even vote and saw pictures of him & his family at a Tea party rally. Hummm.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I hope hasn’t seen the inside of a government building and I hope he was at a tea party rally. If those things are true then he has my vote. I was undecided until you said that now I’m onboard good job supporting tom

    ReplyDelete
  26. This debate should be something to see! I'm putting my money on Welch! Go, Jason!

    ReplyDelete
  27. 9:54 Nice try again. Even the tea party wouldn't want your vote.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You go to welch's web site it still don't say anything except he wants to cut. But that's been the republican cry for years and they still won't say what they want to cut. That's his and your plan? What is it?

    ReplyDelete
  29. 4:12 IF he wins you will be paying for his family benefits but you'll continue to spend taxpayers money as long as it's what you want.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 2:12 You're right he has you to do your continuous bad mouthing and dirty work for him. That's an old republican trick we are all on to. If he's so nice how come he condones you nastys?

    ReplyDelete
  31. And 6:30 even worse than that he's a claims adjuster for a high end insurance agency, not a practicing construction lawyer that he wants us all to believe.

  32. 8:06 Hatred ? You are the pro's when spewing venom. You're funny ! Besides being a hypocrite!

  33. After reading all the posts on the blog, it becomes painfully obvious that Tom has 1 or 2 angry, juvenile supporters who can't spell.

Vote for Jason Welch. We've had enough!
