  1. How about fixing the dam pot holes on Bristol streets before pay parking. Why the heck is public works not fixing the roads?

  2. Has the BDDC involved the Parking Authority and the Handicapped Commission in their planning efforts as was originally suggested?

We have pot holes because Art, "I am the mayor" Ward chose not to put enough money into the road resurfacing account so that he could look good for the 2009 election.

They are a mess, aren't they!

  4. Get a grip 3:57, We have pot holes because it's the end of winter in New England, not because of Ward...maybe you'd like to blame him for the weather too? It's only March for God's sake. Try to find something else to whine about already.

  5. Hartford Courant To Make Reductions in Paper Sizes
Beginning March 30, the Hartford Courant will be making a format change to the newspaper by reducing the page width by one half inch from 11-1/2 inches to 11 inches. Page depth (length) will remain the same. In addition, there will be slight modifications to the size of all tabloid products, which will be generally changed to six columns across 10 inches wide. They will also be a half inch shorter and have the same column measure and width as broadsheet (depth of the finished tabloid image area will be 10 inches).

  6. How much money did this sudy cost? This is just one more study that's going to be shelved.

  7. Seriously, before today, there was no good time to begin patching holes. Snow and rain kept the crew from doing their job. Progress should be made over the next few sunny days. I hope!

Now, back to the griping everyone!

We can't control or stop the rain, but that doesn't stop prudent people from having an umbrella, or closing the windows, does it?

Properly paved roads generally do not have pot holes, only roads that have past their time to be resurfaced have the numerous and continual pot holes as we are NOW experiencing.

    Thanks Art

  9. I think southington public works is going to do the job. The bristol union wont let them patch roads till june 2nd.Strunz aka stortz hows the spelling.

  10. 7:11, Once again, get real. There has NEVER been a year without potholes. The only reason they're worse some years is because of the WEATHER...not the mayor. Even newly paved roads will get potholes from run-off of melting snow and heavy rain. There have been potholes as long as there have been roads. There have also been buttholes...stop being one.

  11. 7:41 you have that right. was at town hall last week to get a dump permit saw people in public works doing nothing .Its like a party down stairs. Wanted to call the press to take pictures. The union would probably stop it.

  13. The way bristol is going we dont need parking. The people coming into bristol are mostly section 8 and we dont give them cars. Maybe the politicans will promise them cars to get votes for the next election.

  14. how about a job performance eval for Walt Velska - he is one lazy, knows nothing director, and yet he collects off us taxpayers.
Thanks Artie for your real leadership - NOT!

  15. Why on earth would the city or anyone for that matter waste time and money studying parking downtown when there is nothing downtown that would require you to find a spot. Seriously, any business that is there now has a parking lot and it won't be for another decade at the minimum that the mall property is developed into anything worth while.

But nowhere near as many and as bad as this year.

    Admit, Ward screwed up!

  17. You got that right. We dont need parking we need the politicans to cut our taxes. I think they forgot why there in office.Hey strnz hows the spelling.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 11:24, Uh ya, actually there have been many more and much worse, but then you appear to be suffering from selective memory loss.

I honestly can't admit that anybody screwed up, but you could admit that you're an angry little person with a huge ax to grind...cuz that's a fact!

  21. Where can I file a claim with the city for a pot hole I hit that damaged my car wheel? Maybe instead of using crack filler all these years they should have fixed it right the first time. Walt Veselka ia a true idiot, supported & protected by Ward.

  22. File your claim in Southington or with the state. If you file a claim in Bristol it will go nowhere. These guys cover for each other. Just like our politicans do.

  23. Call dave mills when he finishes shoveling snow he will fix the potholes. Im sorry did i bring up a sore subject. He never showed up to do the snow.

  25. Hey "Kathy" (aka "Bill" and obviously many of the above posts as well),

It's only March. There's still melting snow and we just had a week of torrential rain. Why don't you cool your jets and give the City a chance to start fixing the winter damage? BTW, in the meantime, why don't you try doing what the rest of us do and drive AROUND the pot holes...although judging from the stupidity of your comment, sounds like driving and chewing gum at the same time would be stretch for you.

An ounce of prevention is worth pound of cure!

Unless it comes at campaign time.

  32. 12:41, I don't have any potholes on my street either. Does that mean I've got an important job with the city too?...(geesh, what a putz!)

    ReplyDelete
  33. 7;46

Not necessarily, but it does mean that the road was resurfaced on schedule.

Care to tell us when, and what street?
