Happy Hollydays

Don't miss reporter Jackie Majerus' Christmas Eve story about Holly, a dog that's finally hit the jackpot after a decade of sometimes horrible abuse. See it here.
And, yes, the big sap on the left in the picture is Frank Johnson, longtime Zoning Commission chair and head of the Bristol Downtown Development Corp.

  1. Looks like Frankie is losing weight.
Is the dog eating his desert?

  2. No, but the dog might be eating his dessert. I doubt Holly would want to eat sand.

It means that you spell dessert, as in cake, pie, cookies, ice cream, like this: d-e-s-s-e-r-t.
Desert, the sandy place with cacti, lizards, hot days and cold nights, is spelled with one s, like so: d-e-s-e-r-t.
Just a friendly little spelling lessson.
And yes, it was indeed a lovely story. Kudos to Holly, her people, her rescurers and even to the writer, who presented it so well, and with no spelling errors, either.

  7. This was a nice simple "feel good" Christmas story.WHY do we have to consistently turn this into dumb vitriol?
