Minor's day job is safe, probably

For those who wondered, city Councilor Craig Minor's real job as town planner was included in the proposed Cromwell town budget last night, though officials still want to cut his salary by $15,000 a year.
Perhaps the town's board of finance will restore his salary in the next round of review. (And if it doesn't, rest assured there's a union lawyer out there who will surely insist on it later.)
Let's hope Minor comes through it all without too much trouble. None of us want to see him begging on the streets of Forestville for mortgage money.

  2. The whole Cromwell Budget/Shingleton thing is interesting they are even attacking Middletown Reporter Jeff Mill in posts/comments over 250 now and climbing from a town of 15,000 more or less. A lot of people in Cromwell must read the Middletown Press.

  5. And the Republicans want to put up an unseasoned candidate for Mayor?

    Experience does matter!

  6. "Unseasoned"?

Ken Johnson worked for a major corporation for almost twenty years on top of starting his own business. Ken Johnson is a graduate of a prestigous university.

What did Ward do except glad-hand to the welfare class and the city workers and run a dive-bar?

If there is some policy that Johnson supports that is debatable, so be it. I personaly did not happen to support the COO. But don't call him "unseasoned" or make silly ridiculous, hypocritical comments please.

  7. Ken Johnson is clearly unseasoned in loqcal politics.
Served on one board, missed more than half the meetings.

No other sevice or experience on city boards.

Why was Johnson "let go" by a major corporation?

  8. Yup, unseasoned...also unprofessional, unenlightened, unaccomplished, and unbelievably unremarkable. Mr. Johnson - the un-man!

And you're probably not much brighter in the real world than you are here on this blog.

  11. As a Town Planner, he is probably not union, so not much protection there...

  12. No one cares about Minor - why did you even put this on the blog? Who cares about him? Certainly not I.

  13. No one cares? He was elected three times to the City Council. Somebody cares.

  16. MAYBE BRISTOL WILL HIRE HIM WITH THE REST OF THE DEAD WOOD DEPT HEADS. PUBLIC WORKS ALWAYS NEEDS HELP HOLDING EACH OTHERS HAND.
