Republican Derek Czenczelewski, 22, is running for City Council in the 3rd District. He's got 170 supporters lined up on Facebook already, which is an interesting twist.
Czenczelewski, who works for a contractor at ESPN, told the Republican Town Committee that he's running.
I'll try to get more on him soon.
The 3rd District is currently represented by two Democrats, Craig Minor and Frank Nicastro. Neither is seeking reelection.
There are no other announced candidates in the district, but Democrat Kate Matthews said she plans to declare in March her intention to run.
At least two other Democrats are eyeing the race, too: Terry Parker and Charles Cyr.

His signs should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteI wish him luck - graduating college and running for council is a lot to put on his plate, but as a Republican it's nice to see there's a new generation of the party that's looking to lead Bristol.
ReplyDeleteI'll wait to see how he stands on the issues, but I give him credit for stepping up to the plate on this.
Derek do you pledge to wear the Orange proudly?Polish Power!
ReplyDeleteOrange for Polish or Orange for Johnson?
ReplyDeleteAnd it starts...
ReplyDeleteKnock Knock- Who's there? Banana
ReplyDeleteKnock Knock- Who's there? Banana
Knock Knock- Who's there? Orange Orange you glad I didn't say Banana????
The Signs Should Say "DEREK FOR COUNCIL"
ReplyDeleteHas he EVER been to a city meeting?
ReplyDeleteKnock 'em dead kid.
ReplyDeleteIf he hasn't been to a city meeting, it could be a good thing. :)
ReplyDeleteBe thankful it's not another Bristol GOP re-tred with 1950's ideas. Give the kid a chance.
ReplyDeleteFear not, the party elders will bury him with advice, offer no suport, leave him hanging with empty promises, wait till he is disillusioned and kick him to the curb.
ReplyDeleteTwo things you can count on with the local GOP, they eat their young and the form their firing squads in circles.
I hope he's not another Tom Deforge
