Mayor Art Ward didn't try to nominate Ed Krawiecki, Jr as an assistant city attorney after all.
Ward said that Krawiecki's nomination "will not be made this evening due to some personal issues that arose."
I'm not at all sure what that's about.
And that comes after I felt quite confident that the council would have voted 4-3 to reject the nomination.
Update at 9:20 - The mayor told me that Krawiecki asked him late today not to put the nomination in. Ward said he cited personal issues. That's all Ward claims to know.
It isn't clear then whether the mayor will try again at a future meeting or not.

Personal issues that arose would be that Art does not have 4 votes. Well ,there is always the BOF.

ReplyDeleteLet's not make this out to be more than it really is. The City takes a lot of time even for the part time lawyers. Ed doesn't want to dedicate that kind of time to the City and not his own practice.
then why put his name in nomination at all? Are you telling me that the mayor would nominate someone who expressed no interest in being nominated?
ReplyDeleteIf the people of Bristol can not see how political the democrats are being by putting their own special interests (anybody but a Republican attitude)ahead of the best interest of the City, they clearly should be able to in this example/issue. Mr. Krawiecki has the skills that are required to be a City attorney. Those skills will serve the city and it's taxpayers quite well.

Ed would have been the 5th.
Truth is that Ward wanted another Kosta (Couture), another Baldwin(Nicastro).
Art needs ALL the help he can get: now he is on his own.
I would be surprised if the DTC supports him next tear.

ReplyDeleteWard was told months ago that the Democrats would be happy to appoint Tom Conlin, a Republican and former town attorney for Plymouth. He was also told that they would have no problem appointing Krawiecki to Don Soucy's seat on the Board of Finance. Putting Krawiecki back in the Corporation Counsel's office would devastate morale in that department and make it impossible for the new Corporation Counsel to be effective. That is why the Democrats rejected him.

Ed doesn't deserve this, no one does.

5th generation, stop polluting this board with your sucking up to Ward. your anonymous position is useless when you say you told Ward he was a good mayor. It's very easy for him to figure out who you are, since you are probably the only one who thinks he is a good mayor.
