What will become of these existing school sites once they are closed? Will they just be another abandoned eye sore like the old Foodmart/ Brooks lot?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8811616037332448221.post-9571666631164000182008-10-04T11:40:00.000-04:002008-10-04T11:40:00.000-04:00If Planning Board doesn't support the site and the...If Planning Board doesn't support the site and the City Council over- rides them, we should have a referendum.
Even if the Planning Board supports the proposal, we should have a referendum.

Didn't Ward write on his website when he ran for election that on matters of great change,or on matters that effect everyone(such as the switch to the K*8 system or large public expenditures (like a $130 million school construction project) then the people should have a vote on the proposition?

I clearly remember reading it.

Very, very hard economic times are coming. A recession is looming or possible depression.
It hasn't escaped my attention that some members of the Council who support this proposal have secure municipal positions and benefits, as opposed to those of us in the private sector. I don't think they are in touch, or know what its like to experience a job loss, or ever had to struggle with a career change,or extended period of unemployement, or a lesser wages and benefits just to support a family.
I think they live in a bubble with too many privilege-induced "visions" .

Well anyway, we shall see if Ward is a man of his word.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8811616037332448221.post-91666615576034105502008-10-04T10:11:00.000-04:002008-10-04T10:11:00.000-04:00JUST SAY NO!JUST SAY NO!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8811616037332448221.post-37339448788157643942008-10-04T07:18:00.000-04:002008-10-04T07:18:00.000-04:00Maybe Stortz wasn't so bad after allMaybe Stortz wasn't so bad after allAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8811616037332448221.post-68511307256829657552008-10-04T03:35:00.000-04:002008-10-04T03:35:00.000-04:00Hey 10:54, I disagree. I'll start gathering the 3,000 signatures we will need so we can all vote on a name change!! This place is really going down hill, and I don't see it stopping. If anything, the snowball effect is now in motion. It's all a matter of time before this town is taken over by inbreds :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8811616037332448221.post-1494065459477672502008-10-03T22:54:00.000-04:002008-10-03T22:54:00.000-04:00Bristol's slow march to becoming Waterbury continu...Bristol's slow march to becoming Waterbury continues courtesy of these clown on the council, this west end school committee and the superintendent .Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8811616037332448221.post-67908855312101516942008-10-03T21:01:00.000-04:002008-10-03T21:01:00.000-04:00So now we have to watch Nicastro and even maybe Ri...So now we have to watch Nicastro and even maybe Rimcoski realize their votes don't count so they can vote no and pretend to be concerned about taxes and the taxpayers, and the seniors on fixed incomes and all the other BS that comes out of their mouths in the interest of their egos.
